The History of the AUG | Tom Cat in CS2 (CS:GO)

Designed by the popular community artist "Mister Thorne", AUG | Tom Cat in CS2 (CS:GO) first appeared as part of The Fracture Case update on August 7, 2020. Its appealing comic-book styled imagery and playful colors made it instantly recognizable, capturing attention during its debut. Initially, it gained momentum among players for its unique and whimsical design, and soon made its way into the inventories of prominent streamers and influencers, boosting its status during CS:GO’s major tournaments.
Throughout various competitive periods, player demand spiked—especially during the Fracture Case hype—causing the CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Tom Cat to rise in desirability. Although it wasn't directly associated with legendary Major-winning highlights, its frequent appearances in the hands of pros and streamers during live broadcasts solidified its place in the community.
With the transition from CS:GO to Counter-Strike 2, the Tom Cat maintained its popularity, continuing to be frequently showcased in official matches and casual games alike. Its legacy as a highly valued skin persists amongst collectors and those seeking vibrant, fun weapon cosmetics.

How Rare Is the AUG | Tom Cat?

The AUG | Tom Cat in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Classified rifle skin, making it a relatively rare drop. You can obtain the CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Tom Cat exclusively from the Fracture Case, which increases its perceived rarity among players, as this case is not as commonly circulated as others.
The rarity of AUG | Tom Cat means that unboxing one is less likely compared to Mil-Spec or Restricted skins, adding to its appeal for collectors. There is no Souvenir AUG | Tom Cat version, so all available variants come from standard case openings, not tournament drops.
Despite its classified rarity, it's a popular choice due to its eye-catching design and accessible price point, making it a staple among casual and professional players. As the Fracture Case gradually becomes less common or gets removed from the active drop pool, the supply may tighten, leading to increased value and scarcity over time.

AUG | Tom Cat Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description:
The AUG | Tom Cat finish displays a mischievous, orange-marked cartoon cat, accented by comic-style graphics. The artwork is highlighted by teal, yellow, and red tones, and covers the main body.

Pattern difference:
There is no significant pattern variation; every CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Tom Cat retains the same character placement regardless of pattern index.

AUG | Tom Cat Minimal Wear: Virtually indistinguishable from Factory New, but may have tiny abrasions around the edges. Slightly less expensive.
AUG | Tom Cat Field Tested: More visible wear, mainly along the most-exposed surfaces. The artwork stays vibrant, making it a popular budget option.
AUG | Tom Cat Well Worn: Noticeable fading and scratches throughout the finish. Colors lose vibrance, causing a price drop.
AUG | Tom Cat Battle Scarred: Most of the skin artwork appears faded and scratched; visuals greatly diminished, but this variant offers the lowest entry price.
AUG | Tom Cat StatTrak: Available in all wear levels, StatTrak™ technology tracks kills. StatTrak versions command a premium, especially in Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions.

Skin Features:
The AUG | Tom Cat finish is always available in the same design. The AUG | Tom Cat float value determines the level of wear, impacting both aesthetics and market value. StatTrak™ makes the skin more desirable for collectors and players who track stats.
