The History of the AUG | Surveillance in CS2 (CS:GO)

The AUG | Surveillance in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by popular community contributor kosear, known for his modern, tech-inspired Counter-Strike skins. This skin debuted in August 2018 as part of the 2018 Nuke Collection during the FACEIT London CS:GO Major update. Its arrival brought a fresh, surveillance-style look to the AUG’s repertoire, with many players drawn to its graphic patterns and sharp color scheme. The skin quickly gained attention as the AUG meta emerged around the time of CS:GO Majors in late 2018 and 2019, when the weapon was frequently picked in pro matches, boosting the skin’s prestige during this period. Community hype was especially high during Major events, as the skin became synonymous with highlight plays and tactical gameplay. With the release of CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Surveillance seamlessly transitioned into the new engine, maintaining its popularity due to high-quality textures and nostalgic value for legacy collectors. Today, CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Surveillance remains a staple among rifle skins, celebrated for both its looks and its connection to an iconic era in Counter-Strike history.

How Rare Is the AUG | Surveillance?

The rarity of AUG | Surveillance in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as Industrial Grade, making it one of the more accessible skins in the game. The CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Surveillance is available exclusively through the 2018 Nuke Collection, which can be obtained during operations, souvenir packages, or as a post-match drop on the Nuke map. Rarity of AUG | Surveillance is influenced by the drop frequency of the Nuke Collection—it is not a rare drop, but certain variants (like Factory New) are less common on the market. There is no standard case drop; instead, its appearance in rotation depends on the active drop pool and in-game events. Probability of unboxing is not tied to cases but rather to the map collection lottery. While there is no Souvenir AUG | Surveillance, its consistent popularity and steady trade volume keep its presence alive within the community, especially among players who want an affordable and modern look for their AUG.

AUG | Surveillance Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description:
The AUG | Surveillance finish boasts a crisp, dark blue base with bright yellow caution tape accents and technical details reminiscent of surveillance monitors. The design carefully balances minimalism with cyber-security themes, making it stand out in-game.

Pattern difference:
There are minimal pattern differences; the main motif remains consistent across all float values.

Effect of float:
The AUG | Surveillance float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.50, giving players access to Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred conditions. Higher float values introduce more visible wear and abrasions, especially on the caution tape and barrel.

Skin Features:
- Available with StatTrak™ technology
- Multiple wear levels

AUG | Surveillance factory new:
Displays vibrant lines and pristine surfaces, minimal or no visible wear. The finish is crisp and highly desirable among collectors, leading to a modest price premium.

AUG | Surveillance minimal wear:
Retains most of the vibrancy and detail of Factory New, but small signs of edge wear may appear. Often chosen for great value-to-appearance balance.

AUG | Surveillance Field Tested:
Noticeable scratches on high-contact areas, especially the handguard and barrel edges. Still maintains most of the original design’s clarity.

AUG | Surveillance well worn:
Heavy abrasion becomes more apparent. The yellow caution elements and blue base appear faded, giving a slightly rugged, battle-hardened look.

AUG | Surveillance Battle Scarred:
The skin appears heavily used—most surface paint is worn, making details less vibrant, and abrasions dominate the model. Cheapest version, favored by budget players or those going for a war-torn aesthetic.

AUG | Surveillance StatTrak:
Available in all wear levels, featuring a built-in StatTrak™ counter. StatTrak™ versions fetch higher prices due to collectibility and their ability to track kills.

AUG | Surveillance float value:
Impacts the skin’s price and collectibility, as collectors tend to seek lower floats for a cleaner look. The AUG | Surveillance finish is best enjoyed in Factory New or Minimal Wear states for optimal display.
