The History of the AUG | Random Access in CS2 (CS:GO)
The AUG | Random Access was created by community designer K A S I, who is celebrated for their contributions to the Steam Workshop.
Appearance history
Introduced to the game as part of the Fracture Case update on August 7, 2020, the AUG | Random Access in CS2 (CS:GO) immediately caught the attention of the player base due to its electrifying, glitchy digital design. The skin gained momentum during the CS:GO Majors, frequently being showcased by top professional players and featured in match broadcasts.
Community hype peaked when several streamers and YouTubers praised the skin's sleek color scheme and tech-themed approach. The release saw notable sales spikes and high demand for StatTrak versions.
Transition into CS2
With the release of Counter-Strike 2, the CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Random Access retained and, in some circles, increased its popularity thanks to enhanced lighting and textures in the new engine, making the skin's details even more pronounced. Collectors, esports enthusiasts, and casual players alike continue to value it, securing its place as a staple Aug skin in the evolving landscape of Counter-Strike.
How Rare Is the AUG | Random Access?
The AUG | Random Access in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Classified (pink) skin and is available from the Fracture Case. It was not removed from the drop pool and continues to be accessible through case openings and via the Steam Community Market.
Probability & Supply:
Given its Classified rarity, the odds of unboxing it from the Fracture Case are low, estimated at around 3% per case. There is currently no Souvenir version, so Souvenir drop odds do not apply.
Rarity of AUG | Random Access
As a non-restricted, high-tier drop, the CS2 (CS:GO) AUG | Random Access maintains steady market availability but is rare enough to drive collector interest. Its popularity is high, especially for those targeting futuristic and tech-themed weapon loadouts, making it a desirable pick for AUG fans.
AUG | Random Access Wear Levels and Conditions
The AUG | Random Access finish exhibits a high-tech, glitch-inspired pattern featuring shattered lines and digital colors in blue, pink, and cyan. The design remains consistent across all pattern indexes.
Effect of Float Value
The AUG | Random Access float value ranges between 0.00 and 0.67, making it obtainable in every wear condition: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred.
Wear Levels Explained
AUG | Random Access Factory New
In Factory New, the skin boasts crisp detail and vibrant colors with minimal to zero visible wear. Prices are highest in this category—appealing to collectors and those seeking pristine inventory items.
AUG | Random Access Minimal Wear
Minimal Wear exhibits only slight reductions in gloss and small, barely perceptible scratches near the edges. It remains a premium choice due to its visual similarity to Factory New, but at a slightly reduced price.
AUG | Random Access Field Tested
Field-Tested versions show modest wear, with more noticeable fading and abrasions on prominent edges. These are widely available and competitively priced, perfect for players balancing aesthetics and cost.
AUG | Random Access Well Worn
Well-Worn skins display significant wear, with more pronounced scraping and muted colors, especially near the muzzle and magazine. Though prices decrease, the iconic pattern still stands out.
AUG | Random Access Battle Scarred
Battle-Scarred items have the most intense wear, characterized by heavy abrasions and duller color overlays. They are the most affordable, popular among budget-conscious collectors.
AUG | Random Access StatTrak
StatTrak versions exist for all wear levels and feature an integrated kill tracker. These versions always trade at a premium due to the added functionality. The market values for StatTrak can be double or higher compared to standard variants.
Across all conditions, the AUG | Random Access finish stays recognizable—a testament to its appealing design and versatility.
