The History of the AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel in CS2 (CS:GO)

The AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel was designed by community creator "PTP" and added to the game on December 15, 2014, as part of The Vanguard Collection, released during Operation Vanguard. The skin quickly gained attention for its hand-painted graffiti style, featuring anarchic symbols and a distressed, scratched finish, embodying a post-apocalyptic urban vibe. It rose to fame as popular professional players showcased the AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel in CS2 (CS:GO) during high-tier tournaments, boosting its reputation among fans. Community hype around its rugged looks and competitive use kept its value high throughout CS:GO’s history. With the transition to CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel maintained its devoted fanbase, continuing to appear in the inventories of collectors and pro players due to its memorable design and vibrant history within the scene.

How Rare Is the AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel?

The CS2 (CS:GO) AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel is a Covert (red) rifle skin, signifying its top-tier rarity among AK-47 skins. Rarity of AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel places it as a rare drop from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case. Since the Vanguard Case is no longer regularly available as a drop, this has contributed to increasing scarcity and higher prices. The probability of unboxing the AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel in CS2 (CS:GO) is extremely low, fitting the 0.64% chance typical for Covert skins. Note that there is no Souvenir version of this skin, keeping its market exclusively for standard and StatTrak™ versions. Its edgy design, high in-game visibility, and professional player endorsement further add to its immense popularity.

AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description:
The AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel finish features a hand-painted graffiti design with chaotic symbols, text, and a distressed, weathered look dominating its appearance. The urban decay style makes each piece look unique and rugged.
Pattern difference:
The skin’s pattern index does not create significant visual differences, so the main distinction comes from wear and float.
Effect of float:
The AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, allowing all wear levels from Factory New to Battle-Scarred. The higher the float, the more scratches and worn-out the finish looks.
Wear levels explained:
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Factory New: Comes with minimal signs of wear; graffiti and paint appear sharp and vivid. AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel factory new is the most expensive, often exceeding $200 USD.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Minimal Wear: Minor abrasions but maintains a pristine appearance. AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel minimal wear is slightly less expensive than Factory New, yet remains highly sought after.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Field Tested: Noticeable scratches and fading on the finish, but graffiti is still visible. Good balance between price and looks.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Well Worn: AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel well worn displays substantial wear, with graffiti and markings visibly faded and additional surface scratches.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Battle Scarred: The most worn look, with paintwork heavily faded, giving off an extra distressed aesthetic. AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Battle Scarred is the least expensive but prized by those seeking maximum rugged flair.
StatTrak™ versions: AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel StatTrak skins track kills and carry an even higher value. All the above conditions come in StatTrak™, often commanding a price premium, especially in Factory New and Minimal Wear.

The AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel finish is exclusively available for the AK-47 and is regarded as a graffitied, battle-worn favorite amongst the CS2 community.
