The AWP Lightning Strike is the Covert chase skin from the very first CS case, and more than a decade later it is still one of the cleanest-looking AWPs you can run. The Lightning Strike came with the Arms Deal update on August 14, 2013 \u2014 the day weapon skins were invented \u2014 as the Covert item of the CS:GO Weapon Case, the first case in the game’s history. Valve’s own update archive on the official Counter-Strike site marks that date. It is an Anodized Multicolored finish (finish catalog 51), and it has survived every engine change since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think about what that means: every AWP skin that came after, from the Asiimov to the Dragon Lore, chased a bar this skin set in 2013. The Lightning Strike was never the flashiest or the most expensive \u2014 it was simply the first, and it looked right from day one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AWP Lightning Strike FN is by far the most common version, and low-float AWP Lightning Strike Factory New copies (under 0.01) can carry an extra premium for collectors. The AWP Lightning Strike Minimal Wear, meanwhile, often costs more than FN precisely because so few exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One more practical note: because FN dominates the supply, you can afford to be picky. Never settle for a 0.06 when a 0.01 sits one listing away for almost the same money. StatTrak roughly doubles the lightning strike AWP price, and StatTrak MW sits as the rarest regular version at the top of the ladder. Note that the AWP Lightning Strike CS2 price can differ between the Steam Community Market and third-party marketplaces, because Steam takes a bigger fee cut and never lets you cash out.
